Right, I forgot that this would involve porting our whole GNOME code to 
GNOME-2. This would definitely be a task for *after* we got the next stable 
series (1.8) out. So, unfortunately the non-ascii-character problem of the 
Guppi charts is likely to be around for quite some time, probably well into 
next year. (Unless enough additional programmers are challenged and are going 
to help in porting to gnome2... :-)
