In the course of the Slashdot thread Jennifer referred to below, the
following features were mentioned as the reasons that people were using
Quicken instead of Gnucash or some other linux-based financial software
(order is not significant).

1. Updating the register online (directly, not via QIF imports)
2. Updating the current price/value of various securities
3. Scheduled transactions
4. Budgeting
5. Business accounting (invoicing, ap, ar)

Seems like your work will be appreciated.  Also, Gnucash got far more
mentions than any other single software package (other than Quicken).
