Interesting..
1.8 says:
...
(set! lst (add-if-exists lst name))
(set! lst (add-if-exists lst (unique (gnc:address-get-name addr))))
...
But 2.x changed. Very interesting. I wonder why this was changed,
and when?

It IS the "Contact" name..

How is your invoice different from the Printable Invoice, Fancy
Invoice, or Easy Invoice?
