bug day, string freeze

I'm thinking of announcing this – at least for the 21st – as 1500 UTC
(11am EDT) to 2200 UTC (6pm EDT).


Is anyone else going to be able to commit to being around, if only for
part of it?  It'd be nice to know if/when I can step out to run errands
during the day. :)
