Register bugs need testing

Hi,

[I was not sure where to address this, so I chose the probably smaller
recipient list :-)]

I think it would be nice if the two bugs

for the register would be fixed in some 2.2.x version.  Strictly
speaking, they are no critical bugs and GnuCash users are likely
accustomed to work around them.  I have attached one-liner patches for
both of them, but I am using the register in an only rather small subset
of ways possible.  That is why I ask for assistance and confirmation
that applying them will not break GnuCash's usability altogether.
