Bug entering transactions?

I'm using the Debian GnuCash package 1.6.6-1. When entering transactions
it's letting me enter splits without an associated account. So basically I
can make money appear out of nowhere.

The checking stuff doesn't appear to pick it up. Surely this can't be right?
