Yet another dependency question....

Hello, I am running RH7.3 with GnuCash version 1.6.6-3.

I sent basically the same plea for help for GnuCash 1.7.7-1, and I did
not succeed in figuring out the solution. So with the attempt to install

gnucash-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm
gnucash-devel-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm
gnucash-ofx-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm
gnucash-docs-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm

I encountered the very same dependency problem. It arises from
g-wrap-1.3.4-1 (and I always install the complementary devel packages).
It complains that it requires libguile.so.12 and libqthreads.so.12

I find that these libraries are contained in guile-1.6.0-3 (and I always
install the complementary devel packages).

While trying to upgrade:
gnucash-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm
gnucash-devel-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm
gnucash-ofx-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm
gnucash-docs-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm
g-wrap-1.3.4-1
g-wrap-devel-1.3.4-1
guile-1.6.0-3
guile-devel-1.6.0-3

However, while upgrading the following to satisfy the dependencies
GnoRPM produces the message:
gnucash-ofx-1.8.0-1.RH7.3 requires libguile.so.6
gnucash-ofx-1.8.0-1.RH7.3.requires libqthreads.so.0
gnucash-1.8.0-1.RH7.3 requires libguile.so.6
gnucash-1.8.0-1.RH7.3 requires libqthreads.so.0
gnome-games-1.4.0.1-5 requires libguile.so.6
gnome-games-1.4.0.1-5 requires libqthreads.so.0

These libraries are reported present in guile-1.3.4-19 according to
GnoRPM. I do not understand if guile-1.6.0-3 does not let the older
packages know to look for the newer libraries. What can be done?
How do I resolve this conflict. Anybody, Please!

If I understand correctly, a package that gnucash-1.8.0-1 requires,
requires a package that will render gnucash-1.8.0-1 inoperable.
I considered forcing the install and creating symbolic links
libguile.so.6 and libqthreads.so.0 to the newer libraries, but do not
know if this will work.

Any help will be appreciated.
To the developers, and echoing the other users, great application.
Thanks.

Chas.
