Problems with slib-2d6?

Because 1.8.8 was not starting with the described problem. So I just 
tried 1.8.7. But the error message is exactly the same.

root at workstation:~>libtool --version
ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.5 (1.1220 2003/04/05 19:32:58)

libltdl was not on my system!
I downloaded it and extracted it in /:

root at workstation:/>tar xjfv libltdl3-1.5-1.tar.bz2
usr/autotool/devel/bin/cygltdl-3.dll
usr/bin/cygltdl-3.dll

But gnucash is still not starting.

This is the most authentic "real" Linux distribution you can get on the 
market ;-)
But maybe you are right. But it would be really interesting what's wrong 
  on my system.

Any other ideas?
