on a gnucash mailing list .... me thinks this may be a tad off-topic!

I have no idea what OpenAFS documents contain but if they are DocBook then
you still don't edit them to convert them into HTML, PDF, DVI, TXT, Texi, PS
or whatever. You still need docbook-utils or docbook-xsl.

Only edit them to change the actual content - i.e. if it is YOUR Docbook
file.

Read the Docbook website and learn the syntax.
