GnuCash and Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger)

Has anyone successfully gotten GnuCash to work with Tiger?

I upgraded to Tiger and GnuCash (1.8.9) opened but the wording from the
menus and buttons didn't appear and there were lots of errors on the screen.
I have since upgraded Xcode to the Tiger version, and upgraded Fink and
GnuCash (1.8.11-1), but Iam still having the same problems.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated!
