compiling GC on Solaris 9

Yep. You're right. It kept going right up until it encountered the next "-I ". I've removed this and finally have a working (so far) gnucash version 2.0.0 on Soalris 9 Sparc. Cool!

Now all I need to do is learn how to use it. :)
