how to use gmane archive

gmane runs a NNTP server, and makes every list available as a newsgroup. 
The link is on that page - 
nntp://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.apps.gnucash.user
  - you may be able to just click on it to open it in your newsreader. If 
not, you would open thunderbird, go to account settings, add account, add 
an NNTP account with news.gmane.org as the server.

In the group subscription dialog for that account - eg after creating it, 
right click on it and choose subscribe - you can type a wildcard to list 
all matching groups (from the 8000 available). Type in gnucash to see the 4 
gnucash newgroup/lists and subscribe to them.
