Deleting fields crashes gnucash

I don't know if this is an old bug or if my version is too old for this 
bug to matter, but has anyone else encountered the following error?

If an account window is open and there is a split transaction. The 
program crashes if the line containing that window's account is deleted 
by blanking the fields in that line.

I haven't switched to the new 2.x, yet so this bug may not be a problem 
any more. Could someone with the new version test if this problem exists 
on the new version?
