Yes, I'm sure that all that did get installed, but it manages itself (although
I use a GUI for portage to help me).
When I was using Red Hat, years ago, this was a trouble as I entered rpm
dependency hell, but the list of dependencies now to be collected no longer
I just leave the machine running until its ready.
If I lived in a third world country with poor quality, possibly censored dial
up slow internet, then it wouldn't be feasible to run gentoo and I'd have to
use a pre built binary package for gnucash. I guess Mr Shuttleworth would
send me one of his free DVDS and I'd use that.
