Random Windows in Visa 64-Bit

I'm running on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, although I'm not sure that this problem is specific to that. I can't figure out what causes it. It seems to be random.

While running, I get a bunch of little gnucash windows at the bottom of my desktop. They look like little minimized windows. Sometimes just one, sometimes maybe 10 or 15.

If I minimize the main window and then restore it, then all of the little windows also restore. They are all just blank grey boxes with no title bar graphics or anything. They are top-most windows, so they sit in front of everything on the desktop.

After a while, some of them go away. I can't figure out what makes them appear or what's making them go away.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks.

J
