Displaying more than 1 month's worth of data

I am running GnuCash 2.2.6. My chart of accounts includes a bank 
checking account on which I write checks. I am trying to display all my 
checks from the 2006 to now. However, I am only able to get checks from 
the beginning of the current month. How do I specify a period other than 
the current month?
