Coming from Money, any way to save filters?

Unfortunately while that seems to work if you leave GNUCash open, as soon as
I close GNUCash (even if I don't close that register) it seems to revert to
default, so I lose the settings

Personally would definitely be nice, as I said, I keep everything but
reconciled transactions visible as I find it keeps my transaction listing
much shorter and is just easier to view (especially after years and years of
transactions like I had in Money). Other than that loving GNUCash so far,
once I got used to all the accounts (which actually was easy, just had to
have a paradigm shift into how Money sort of has the same thing) it's been
great.
