Reconcile does not work for me

I am using GnuCash 2.2.6 on Debian Lenny.  I want to reconcile a bank
account, account type "bank" selected, "automatic interest transfer"
preference not selected.  When I select "reconcile" for the account I
can enter the ending balance and the statement date.  At the bottom
there is the "Enter Interest Payment ..." button to open the another
window.  I skip this step because I have already entered the interest
payment manually.

Cliking OK in the "Reconcile Information" window opens the the
"Reconcile" window.  I can check off all the reconciled items, but the
"finish" button, inoperative when the Reconcile window opens, stays
inoperative.  When I close the window all the reconciliations are undone.

How does one get an operative finish button, or is this a bug?
