automatic progressive transaction id across accounts

Hi Paolo,

I have the exact same requirement, however, I don't know how to 
accomplish it in the current version.

If nobody else picks it up, I'd like to get involved with development, 
and try to implement such a feature. (Please don't hold your breath till 
it's done, though).
