splitting a transaction

I purchased groceries and clothing at the same store and now want to
reflect the same transaction as different expenses in Expense:* but I'm
not sure how.  I suspect the trick is to properly split the expense,
which I've done successfully with payroll before, but for the life of me
I can't seem to get it right with this one.

I'm new to GnuCash.. so any help, or ideally a walk-through of the
process would be much appreciated.
