No Notes for Scheduled Transactions

Searched but no unique keywords ... too many hits.

Can't get a scheduled transaction with notes to be entered in 'register'.
Transaction appears but without the notes as in the original.

Did the following:
 Selected a x'actn with notes (View -> Double Line)
 Actions-> Schedule => 'Make Scheduled Transaction' dialog
      (set Start Date = today) then clicked OK
 SAVE
 Closed GnuCash
 Launch GnuCash (woth View -> Double Line)
  (dialog: X'actn To-Create => OK)
X'actn added but without the 'notes' from the original x'actn 

This occurred for 'check' action, 'deposit' action, and  undefined(empty
action field) action
