gnucash 2.3.9 cannot open older xml account

A distribution upgraded you to a TESTING version???? Please explain to
them that 2.3.x are TEST releases, and are going to have bugs in them!
Users should NOT be using 2.3.x for real data without understanding that
their data could be destroyed by bugs in the system.

I know of no reason it couldn't open an older file. It's POSSIBLE that
it's the hungarian, but I find it unlikely.
Anything printed on the terminal or in /tmp/gnucash.trace?
