GnuCash won't open after transferring data files from one box to another (2)

I am the only user which uses GC.

Did so.

> then in preferences, scheduled txn section, uncheck something like "run on

Also did so.

> then File -> open your data file.

The data file opened momentarily and GC crashed.  The text returned
reads as follows:

Segmentation fault

Actually I hadn't.  The account structure had not been changedé

Thanks for your suggestions.  "Segmentation fault" could mean anything.
