Present x Total columns

Thanks Fred and James for your answers...

So far, I am using Present (Period) column, setting the initial data equal
to the beginning of my data and final data equal to "today".

It is working, but I've lost the real "Period balance" functionality...

Thanks anyway, gnucash is an awesome tool!
