Compiling GnuCash 2.2.9 on Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric)?

Well, if you're up for building Gnucash from source, you should be able to build whatever version of libgoffice from source as well. Tarballs are at ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/goffice, git repo is git.gnome.org/goffice.
