Take a look in the Trace File http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Tracefile
It should have more information about what kind of error occurred
while running the report.

Reinstalling is not going to do anything.  More likely it's a report
configuration or data issue.  Unless, of course, you hand modified a
report?  But I doubt you did that.
