Quickfill again

I wasn't around last time this was discussed. I would prefer to see ESC
cancel the quickfill immediately, as tab could be an acknowledgement even
when the last character is a space for me. Alternatively, quickfill options
could come from a drop-down instead of showing up in-line, then they could
be selected only when desired using the mouse or arrow keys. Both of these
options would be more standard than checking for the last character when
leaving the field (with tab or otherwise). That said, there are paid
programs with more widespread use than gnucash with similar problems, my
workaround is typically to use keyboard shortcuts to quickly get to where I
want to correct the quickfill, correct it, and if necessary, leave a space
between characters so that it doesn't re-correct, making the last action
before exit deletion of that space instead of a typing action.

Nobody has ever said the idea is bad; I'm sure lots of people would like it.
So I'm not sure what "reconsideration" you are asking for, here.
If you want to see it implemented quickly then I'm afraid your best option
is to find a developer (maybe you, maybe someone else) who can implement it
and have that person send in the patches. Other than that, I'm afraid it's
just sitting in the queue of great ideas that don't get implemented due to
lack of time.

There is no need to bring it up on the list again and again. Put it into
UserVoice. Or file an RFE in Bugzilla. But without patches tied to it I
think it's unlikely to happen until some developer really wants to see it
happen. Emailing over and over wont change that.

Thanks,
