There *is* a report configuration file with the data in the directory specified by Gnucash (an invisible file folder on Macs), but no option to select the report in the Report Menu. I believe the default file path was recently changed for Macs, but was the file path for the Menus also updated, or is there another issue causing the problem? -- Jesse
As Maf says, customized reports are run from the "Custom Reports" dialog box. They're not inserted into the menus.
The Gnucash configuration data, including custom reports, is in ~/Library/Application Support/Gnucash. That's not a recent change, it's been the case since 2.4.0. It wasn't a hidden directory before Lion. You can still get there with Finder, though, using the Go menu.
