Account Code

Ok I was expecting someone would say  this, but no one has so far: when entering a transaction, you type the account code in the same place where you would type or choose an account name. Then when you Tab over to the next field, GnuCash automatically replaces the code with its corresponding account name.

I use account codes as a fast and easy way to enter accounts in transactions. If you're interested, you can search for previous emails I've sent to the list on the subject.
