PS. If you did not get any explaination of 'thread', I would say it is
as simple as: A new email is sent to the the list and this is the start
of a 'thread'. Any answer to this email belongs to this 'thread' (line
of discussion), and therefore the thread should consentrate on its
subject. It is unpolite (and messy) to introduce new topic into an
ongoing thread, start a new thread in such cases (as mentioned by John).
