How is the "net assets" value in the summary bar calculated?

If you look in the Tutorial and Concepts Guide under Interface: Account
tree window you see that
"At the bottom is the /Statusbar/, which tells you information about
what you own (Net Assets) and how much money you have made (Profits)."

Thus the short answer is presumably that Net Assets would be the sum of
all your assets minus all your liabilities.

I leave the long answer to others better qualified than myself.
