We advise that you use the import window to assign the balancing accounts during the import process. If you turn on bayesian matching in preferences, Gnucash will be able to automatically assign your repeat transactions after a few imports.

We advise that you never write to a Gnucash database or file with any program other than Gnucash or one which uses the Gnucash API (and we know of none in the latter category).
