Gnucash won't start

You can try to remove your data file's meta data in .gnucash/books. The 
location of this directory depends on your operating system.

On linux:
$HOME/.gnucash/books
On Windows:
c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\.gnucash\books
or
c:\Users\<username\.gnucash\books
On Mac OS
$HOME/Library/Applications Defaults/Gnucash
or
$HOME/Library/Applications Support/Gnucash

The meta data file your are looking for is named after your data file 
with the .gcm extension added.
