Did you try the Windows download link at http://gnucash.org/download.phtml ? It doesn't specify Win8, but it might work anyway.

I have just purchased a computer loaded with MS Windows 8. I
would like to download the stable version of Gnucash, however, windows is not
one of the OS systems listed for choosing a download.  Is there a way I
can load Gnucash in my new computer?
