Quicken 98 Import

Dear All,

I have read various posts about importing QIF files.

My first question is when exporting to QIF from quicken are you meant to 
check everything except the MAC option or just the transactions or does 
it depend??

Second question, if as some posts suggest you need to write scripts to 
import these files, is this one for a newbie like me?

I am wondering if I am better off simply starting afresh with GNUCash 
and retaining the old files in quicken format. Has anyone got any thoughts?
