this alleviates us from filing another bug report, but the fact that it
has been opened 11 years ago may indicate there are other higher
priorities to the developers.

In my specific case I also experience another bug
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=635435) which is referred to
generating the mortgage payment from a past date.

I cannot guarantee any long term commitment but I'll try to have a look
at the code and propose a fix since this feature is rather important to
me. If Christian Stimming has already an idea on how to fix these bugs
and does not have the time to do it I'll be glad to do it in his place.

In the meantime if anyone has a better option to bypass the problem I'd
be more than happy to hear it.
