2.6.3 from GetDeb crashing on Ubuntu 14.04

In 2.6.1, Edit -> Preferences -> Accounting Period cannot be set. Indian
financial year runs from 01/Apr through 31/Mar. Setting this in
preferences is impossible. This was reported on this list to have been
fixed in 2.6.3. However, if 2.6.3 also has a serious fault, maybe we
should await a later fixed version?
