2.6.3 from GetDeb crashing on Ubuntu 14.04

If that is the reason that 2.6.3 from getdeb crashes on close on
Ubuntu 14.04, then is there a known reason why 2.6.3 built from source
in the same environment does not crash?  Libdbi is at 0.9.0-1.

In fact the bug report does not mention crashing on close at all so is
this even related?
