How difficult is it (really) to reorganize a Chart-of-Accounts after the fact?

Mark,

I'm using gnuCash 2.6.3 on Windows 8.1 ...

I opened up gnuCash to see what could be causing our different headings.

My checking/savings account-types = "Asset" ...
      I changed them to "Bank".

My credit cards account-types = "Liability" ...
I changed them to "Credit Card".

I re-opened the registers ... no change on the headings.

So, I closed gnuCash and re-opened gnuCash; then opened the registers,
and the headings were changed to yours, above, EXCEPT I still have
"Tot " in front of each heading ...

Account-Type Left Right
Bank .......... "Tot Deposit" & "Tot Withdrawal"
Expense ....... "Tot Expense" & "Tot Rebate"
Income ........ "Tot Charge" & "Tot Income"
Credit Card ... "Tot Payment" & "Tot Charge"

So, they are similar, except for the "Tot".
