I'm not sure I'm understanding your question. Registers typically are only
for one account (e.g., a checking account, a credit card account), or
perhaps for multiple accounts in the account hierarchy (i.e., you pick an
account and open a register for it and all of its child accounts). When you
say "account register that shows all transactions" it makes me think you
may be looking for what is called the 'General Ledger' in the gnucash menus
(which is a register that includes all transactions, regardless of what
accounts they deal with). Go to the 'Tools' menu and select 'General
Ledger'. Does that give you what you are looking for? Beware, though, that
the General Ledger defaults to show only recent transactions so that if you
are not aware of this, you may think older transactions have 'disappeared'.
With the General Ledger open, go to 'View->Filter By...' and on the 'Date'
tab, select 'Show All'. This should show you all transactions that have
ever been entered into Gnucash. Is this what you are trying to do?
