An alternative way to handle this rather than, for instance, inserting
all future mortgage payments, is to use the Scheduled Transaction
feature to just enter then next payment  at an appropriate time. I
setup the scheduled transactions to enter all of the next months
regular payments at the start of the month (but dated with the
expected real date for each one) as my income arrives at the start of
the month.  Then the final balance on the account shows the amount
after all expected bills have been paid that month which, for me, is
the critical figure.
