  The work around (for the "per user" settings) if you must use 
different settings for the different orgs is to create a "user" login 
for each that does.

  This would also deal with the "open what file" issue on Macs << also 
supplies the password protection some have asked for -- this user 
account JUST for running gnucash for a specific set of books.
