Not some data but all data (it is the program, etc. that is in a 
directory shared by all users)

But you may have some control where gnucash stores data. Not necessarily 
directly in you user home directory but optionally within a directory 
within your user home directory. And always remember, you a a single 
human user can be multiple users as far as your computer is concerned. 
Much as you probably already have a user login as "ordinary user" and 
one as "administrator". Well you could add another "ordinary user". The 
computer does not "know" that these two users are the same human.
