06:25:02 <JonathanElli1> Hi. I am trying to write off part of an unpaid invoice. I have seen http://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2005-November/014920.html. I need to write off the unpaid part to an expense account so that it reduces my profit. It seems I cant process a payment with a transfer to an expense account. Can anyone help?

17:38:25 <ac_crusade> I was wondering if there is anyway to show a "credit limit" for credit card types
17:38:49 <ac_crusade> The best I could do was just add it under product description on the main page

17:41:14 <jsled> no, there's no modeled space for credit limit

17:56:43 <Rolf> warlord: Can you commit the patch from http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144669 ?
17:57:01 <warlord> Rolf: not right this moment I'm afriad.
17:57:04 <warlord> afraid even
17:57:30 <Rolf> tie a knot in your handkerchief ;-)
17:58:26 <Charles> In regards to bug 539829: What's the story with the code in lib/libqof/qof... can I go ahead and apply the fix to qofsession.c or does some other project maintain that code?
18:05:17 <Charles> I have finished all the strftime-related changes, by the way, so I'm ready to commit that as well.
18:05:43 <jsled> lib/libqof/qof/ is ours. we should feel free to modify it as necessary.
18:05:48 *** donfede has left #gnucash
18:09:17 <Charles> Thanks, Josh. I've committed the fix to bug 539829 as r17248.
18:17:08 <warlord> We should probably move it back from lib/ to src/
18:17:32 <warlord> it's in lib because there was an attempt to stay in sync, but we've long since given up on that.
18:22:41 *** yrro has quit IRC
18:31:34 <Charles> Ah, I see. Well, I might as well fork it some more. :) The strftime fix has just been committed as r17249.
18:34:50 <Charles> There are 3 or 4 bug reports related to the strftime fix. I tagged r17249 as related to bug 532405 but there are several others (bug 507865, bug 520361, bug 530924).
18:42:48 *** rivad has joined #gnucash
18:43:01 <warlord> You could have tagged it with all the bugs.
18:44:06 <rivad> Problem with gnucash started today: Cannot find default values. I can specify the input file and bring things up and save everything, but the next time I go into gnucash I get the same errors again.
18:45:30 <jsled> rivad: what changed?
18:46:05 <rivad> Wish I knew. I did apply some Mandriva updates this morning. Let me look at the rpms.
18:47:50 <warlord> gconf issue?
18:48:17 <Charles> OK, well at least I'll put remarks in their bug reports. Regarding bug 507865, typing in %e manually doesn't crash the application any more (only the report). And we don't plan to change that behavior. So I think that bug can be closed immediately.
18:48:39 <rivad> warlord: yes
18:49:04 <rivad> Would it do me any good to delete the application and then reinstall?
18:50:12 <warlord> rivad: I dont know. Maybe? Maybe restart gconf?
18:50:27 <rivad> warlord: How to restart gconf?
18:50:43 <warlord> gconftool-2 --shutdown ?
18:50:49 <warlord> Charles: go for it.
18:50:51 <warlord> @op Charles
18:50:51 *** gncbot sets mode: +o Charles
18:50:55 <jsled> rivad: does your distro have support channels? They might be better positioned than us to talk about how they packaged things.
18:51:13 <rivad> Well, if I reboot won't that accomplish the same thing?
18:52:10 <warlord> it should, yes
18:52:23 *** rivad has quit IRC
18:53:50 <Charles> Derek, I probably should mention that I wasn't actually able to test the strftime fix with the business reports since I don't have any data to test with. But that global variable is definitely defined in Scheme (I tested that, at least.) So unless I made a typo your business reports should be good.
18:54:41 <warlord> I'll pull it down and test it.
18:54:44 <warlord> thanks.
18:57:30 *** rivad has joined #gnucash
18:57:44 <rivad> Just to let you know, a reboot seemed to fix things. Thanks.
18:59:33 <warlord> Charles: qsf-xml.h:39:1: error: "_" redefined
18:59:45 <warlord> ...
18:59:47 <warlord> /usr/include/glib-2.0/glib/gi18n.h:25:1: error: this is the location of the previous definition
19:02:36 <Charles> Hmm... how to get around that? I had to include gi18n.h in gnc-date.c because of use of N_()
19:03:06 <warlord> But this has nothing to do with gnc-date.c
19:03:14 *** ErKa has quit IRC
19:03:35 <warlord> BUT.. it looks like you added it to gnc-date.h ???
19:03:41 *** rivad has left #gnucash
19:04:05 <warlord> Move that to the .c?
19:04:17 <warlord> Or.. let me try.
19:04:44 <Charles> Yep, I must have left it in the .h by mistake. It can just go to .c I think.
19:04:54 <warlord> No reason not to..
19:05:14 <Charles> Why should extra includes in gnc-date.h break anything though?
19:05:14 <warlord> Yeah, that seems to fix it.
19:05:32 <warlord> because it causes _() to be doubly defined.
19:06:12 <warlord> I'll commit this change once my build completes.
19:09:17 <Charles> Ah, I see that qsf-xml.h defines its own version of _() ...
19:12:47 <Charles> Could qsf-xml.h just use <glib/gi18n.h>'s version of _() if it is already defined? Or does it need its own custom version?
19:14:40 <warlord> it couldm yes.
19:14:58 <warlord> Charles: looks like POTFILES setting is broken too.
19:15:54 <warlord> (needed to add gnc-date.c)
19:15:57 <warlord> Fixed..
19:16:25 <Charles> So we could just stick an #ifndef in qsf-xml.h I guess (to prevent this from happening again)
19:17:24 <warlord> nah
19:17:28 <Charles> I wouldn't have thought of the POTFILES stuff. Glad you are trying a full compile (takes me several hours).
19:17:42 <warlord> takes me 20 minutes.. or less

19:22:23 <Charles> Gmail is complaining that it can't deliver to gnucash-devel@gnucash.org. Error 451 if I understand the gobbledegook.
19:27:19 <warlord> Yeah, gmail has issues because: 1) it fails the sender-verify checks, and 2) doesn't resend from the same IP address.
19:27:24 <warlord> EVENTUALLY it'll get through.
19:28:59 <warlord> ok, I committed the fix. It's building again. Now I need to test it. ;)
19:29:52 <Charles> Ah. First time I've seen it happen. :)
19:30:25 <warlord> first time you've just been unlucky.
19:30:42 <warlord> you probably got a bounce because it took more than 4 hours.
19:37:38 <warlord> Charles: FYI, a Customer Report still looks correct.
19:39:18 <Charles> Good news. I already verified that Scheme sees %#d instead of %3 when running on win32, by the way.
19:39:27 <Charles> %e
19:40:56 <warlord> Sweet!
19:43:31 <warlord> I wonder why I haven't seen any mail from these commits?
19:45:06 <warlord> Ah.. clamav milter crashed...??
19:45:25 <warlord> That also could be why you saw problems.
19:56:15 <Charles> Just got another email warning over something I mailed to gnucash-devel yesterday...
20:03:04 <Charles> I have to step out for 30 mins or so... if you still happen to be around when I get back, I'll be curious to know if the business reports all check out OK.
20:03:42 <warlord> It should be running now.
20:03:54 <warlord> But I need to run out for an hour or more. ..
