I have an issue with an incomplete investment transaction that was originally duplicated from another transaction, then the number of shares total amount and transfer amount were all changed. I started the edit in a view of the brokerage account with children. First I could not make the changed transfer amount stick when I saved the transaction
12:31:10 <David_L_Carlson> So I 'jumped' to the security account and there I was able to change the transfer amount, delete the imbalance line and save the transaction. Then I 'Jumped' to the brokerage account and found that the funds did not appear there. In fact, there was no amount at all.

12:39:27 <David_L_Carlson> In the General ledger view of that transaction I only see a transfer of the dollars? from the stock account to the brokerage account. Since the buy price is $1.00 it could be shares instead. Looking at the Account Transaction Report of the same transaction from either side showed the purchase on the security side and no amount on the brokerage side.
12:44:52 <David_L_Carlson> This looks like it took on some of the characteristics of a capital gain or loss because no funds appear in the brokerage account, yet there is a share purchase shares, price and total amount and transfer amount on the next line when viewed from the security account.
12:46:36 <David_L_Carlson> I have had this happen before, and because I was in a hurry I just deleted the transaction and did it over, but I would prefer to generate a bug report if I can figure out how to reproduce it.
