02:35:19 <CDB-Man> looking to line graph the balance of my equity account over time. if I use the net worth linechart and select only the equity accounts, the chart returns blank. I assume its because the report doesnt read equity... instead it does assets minus liabilitities. how can i graph just my equity balance directly? or do I need to export it? in which case, what's the best way to export its value by month?
02:41:37 <CDB-Man> i'm thinking a transaction report for just that account, export to excel, and graph it there
08:58:06 <warlord> What is your account depth? And did you choose the whole equity tree, including the top-level equity account?
08:58:19 <warlord> CDB-Man, ^^

14:32:27 <jralls> CDB-Man, the Net Worth charts filter on asset and liability accounts; the Income-Expense charts on Income and Expense just like they say. There's no equity-over-time chart for equity accounts. I'd do a SQL query and paste the results into a spreadsheet to make the graph, but that requires knowing SQL.
14:40:45 <jralls> CDB-Man You could do a transaction report but a CSV export might be easier to stuff into a spreadsheet. The transaction report can give you monthly subtotals but there's no way to make that the only thing it gives you. Once in the spreadsheet you can do a pivot table by month and a line chart on the result.

19:45:11 <jralls> fell_laptop, weblate is complaining that we have po/glossary/de_CH.po but no po/de_CH.po. Do you know why we have an extra glossary language?
19:51:28 *** fell_laptop is now known as fell
19:55:45 <fell> Jralls: Very long ago we had a de_CH.po I found out,the translator had claimed Microsoft specific terms as swiss-german. And after that change we got no further updates from him. After a few releases de_CH was missing hondreds of updated messages and we abandoned it.
19:57:50 <fell> To see the cause, why there is a glossary file now, I will have to do some research tomorrow.
20:08:46 <jralls> From git history it looks like it was added in 2008 when po/de_CH.po was, but not deleted with po/de_CH.po in 2010. Since then it has gotten only 14 "Translation update" commits.
20:16:52 <jralls> BTW, weblate just added accelerator checks. I turned them on for the program component.
20:18:30 <fell> in https://hosted.weblate.org/translate/gnucash/glossary/de_CH/?q=has%253Asuggestion I see no improvement against de
20:20:07 <jralls> Shall I delete it?
20:22:54 <fell> Same for https://hosted.weblate.org/translate/gnucash/glossary-1/de_CH/?q=has%253Asuggestion
20:23:38 <fell> Yes, delete it.
20:26:06 <fell> Oh, nice check.I remember, w
20:26:28 <fell> I discssedit with them.
20:26:40 <fell> discussed
20:29:59 <jralls> It will be interesting to see how well it goes over with the translators. It's not always easy to figure out what control an accelerator is for and you have to look at the whole menu or dialog box to see what other accelerators are used to pick something that doesn't conflict.
20:38:27 <jralls> glossary/de_CH.po is gone.
20:46:30 <fell> Thanks!
20:56:04 <fell> Jralls,do yo have an idea, why the decription of https://hosted.weblate.org/translate/gnucash/-/en/?q=label%3A%22Source+needs+review%22&offset=2#comments starts with CJK glyphs?
21:09:57 <jralls> fell, it appears that someone has translated all of the comments in https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/blob/stable/po/glossary/zh_CN.po. I guess the web interface is picking that up and displaying it to everyone.
21:21:46 <fell> Funny. Perhaps something to discuss with the weblate guys?
21:22:48 <jralls> Maybe. Or the zh_CN translator.
21:25:53 <fell> Our Description is prefixed "#. " the zh comment only with "# ".
21:45:05 <fell> From my POV it is a bug in weblate.
