12:11:01 <Robert847> Hi. I am still having frequent crashes in GnuCash 5.16 in Windows 11. I'm not running it in an environment that can give detailed trace files right now but maybe I will find time to do that soon. In the meantime, the last trace file this morning ends with:
12:11:01 <gncbot> Robert847: Sent 6 days, 3 hours, and 6 minutes ago: <warlord> fixing the wiki is easy -- you just edit the page. I'm not sure what you mean by fix [them]... to work correctly . Do you mean document the current behavior ?
12:11:07 <Robert847> * 10:41:42 ERROR <gnc.ledger> [gnc_split_register_get_trans_split()] bad row
12:11:07 <Robert847> * 10:41:42 ERROR <gnc.register.gnome> gnucash_sheet_cursor_set_from_table: assertion 'gnucash_sheet_cell_valid (sheet, v_loc)' failed
12:13:45 <Robert847> Response to warlord: yes, I am considering trying to document current behavior, if not completely, at least to correctly describe the behavior that I see.
12:14:48 *** gncbot sets mode: +o warlord
12:14:58 <warlord> go for it
12:24:58 <Robert847> The other thing that I am seeing right now is that I cannot copy and paste a short string from the notes field to the debit formula field in an edit of an existing scheduled transaction. It doesn't work either from the keyboard or from the edit menu. It does get to the clipboard as I can paste it to a new document in notepad
12:25:39 <Robert847> I tried closing and reopening GnuCash but it still fails
12:26:37 <warlord> How are you doing the copy-and-paste? And why from notes to debit? NOtes are free-form. Debit is a number formula.
12:31:06 <Robert847> When editing an existing transaction I think it is all free form text until the edit is committed. I usually try Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, and Ctrl-V in the target field. Since that didn't work, I tried using Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste in the target field, which isn't working either
12:33:36 <Robert847> I am fairly sure it used to work in previous versions
12:35:26 <Robert847> As I said, the string is in the clipboard because I can paste it into a notepad document
12:43:13 <Robert847> I think I foiund the problem. The string doesn't evaluate to a valid formula, but it doesn't generate an error either. The string is "(1,558.89-184.01+13.14)*0.0999/12 <p = i *12 / 0.0999"
12:44:07 <Robert847> I would have expected that to trigger an error
12:45:49 <Robert847> If I concantinate to"(1,558.89-184.01+13.14)*0.0999/12" it does paste.
12:46:57 <Robert847> I can file a bug report for that issue.
12:50:44 <Robert847> Now I recall that it is difficult or impossible to find the rules for formulae that work in the scheduled transaction editor
13:06:38 <warlord> SX formula are kinda black magic... the functions are defined in fcn.scm

16:44:37 <Robert847> Where can I find fcn.scm?
16:47:45 <warlord> In the sources or in the installed location?
16:52:51 <Robert847> I did find it in the wiki. is that the source? It hasn't changed since Jul 17,2022. Yet I thought there were some changes to the SX editor in the 5.16 release
16:55:04 <Robert847> maybe they were actually in the SLR demon
17:05:44 <warlord> fcn hasn't changed -- those are the functions available (like pmt, ppmt, etc)
17:05:59 <warlord> The source is in the source.
