Well, this information did come from a file provided by Quicken 2000,
but I believe the IRS and the tax code is the original source, as all
this does is document what is supposed to go on particular lines of
particular tax forms. Whether that is sufficient to cover us, I
couldn't say.
I contacted several vendors of tax preparation software to get
documentation for the TXF format and they either gave no response, or
told me that they did not have such a document. (Odd that they could
build their software without such a thing, unless they reverse
engineered their competitors software as I did) If anyone knows of a
source for the TXF export format spec, it would resolve this problem.
