Sort-of. libgda was one of the contributing technologies to the 
gnue GEAS component, I haven't exactly figured out the lineage.
or the current status.  But if I understand it right, it has my 
seal of approval as 'the right thing'.  (i.e. almost certainly 
better than odbc for our uses).
