VAT

Hi!

Is there a method in Gnucash to enter the amount of VAT in a transaction,
so that Gnucash automatically creates a split transaction?

In Germany an commercial enterprise has to collect VAT when it sells
something,
and it can get VAT it had to pay back.

VAT is neither an income (when selling) nor an expense (when buying),
because the money comes from/goes to the government. Until it is transferred
from/to there, it is stored on a special acount called "VAT".
